Q: Where can I find a used audi tt for under $20,000? I live in NC?
I do not want a convertable.
A: Well i don't live in NY so I'm not sure about specific car dealerships ect. What i could suggest you do is have a look on ebay.com. I know they have millions of cars for sale, so what you could do is find one that come from a dealer ( anywhere in America) and just get them to ship it down to you.
I live in the UK and I've bought am few cars that have come from the complete opposite ends of the country, It's not a problem though all they do is transport it up.
Hope that helps .
Q: Audi tt. I have what looks like a ethernet cable input on the bottom of my cup holder. I was wondering why it'
is their and how i can use it.
A: Might be for a car phone if its an older model.
Q: Premium gas for my Audi?
Okay well im about to but a used 2001 Audi TT with only 75,000 miles on it. All the research ive done says to use ppremium gas only, but does it really matter?
A: Yes, all TTs use the 1.8 turbo VW motor. Turbo motors need premium gas. They also require full synthetic oil.
Make sure the car has had the timing belt replaced. It's due at 60k miles and it can cost you anywhere from $400 for parts only if you do it yourself to 2k if you have the dealer do it. Mine also had a problem with the Master and slave cylinders for the clutch.
I have a CD manual for that car, let me know if you are interested. rotuselan at yahoo dot com.
Q: Audi TT as a first car?
I want an Audi TT for my first car. I found a used one for $15,997. It is a 2001 with 76,600 miles on it. Would this be a good first car? I am 15.

As for those who call me spoiled, I will admit I am better off then most kids but I also have a job and a 4.0, and class president. My parents will only support me if I keep up with my grades and good behavior. None of you know me so don't judge me just because you are jealous of the life that I live. :)
A: nice car, if you like it and your parents are willing to get you it, go for it. it does have a turbo, so be careful if you plan on driving it fast, cuz it could get crazy. it does have awd, so it shouldnt have problems gripping, but you never know. and to help your parents out, have them insure it under one of their names, and put you down as a backup driver. and you will need to practice with a manual transmission if you dont know how already.
Q: is Audi TT reliable?
I am trying to buy a used car. The budget is around $20,000.
I am thinking German car like Audi, BMW, and Mercedes.
So far, my list is Audi TT and CLK 320 and it seems like a lot of people told me that CLK 320 is not reliable.
So Audi TT owner, Tell me bad and good things about TT.
Thank you.
A: My brother in law had a CLK320. He tried the Z3, TT, Boxter and CLK and got the CLK cause he liked the retractable hard-top.
After 1 year he dumped it and got his 2002 TT (225HP 4cyl) which he has had since and loves it. I don't think he had trouble with the CLK, but he decided it drove too much like a "big car" and wanted something that was more sporty feeling.
I have a 2005 TT (250HP 6cyl) and love it. The car is solid on the road. Everything just fits. Seats are comfortable, the steering gives good feedback of the road without being too heavy - just heavy enough.
I haven't spooled up my car, but when in Germany I rented one and it felt really comfortable at 220km/h. At 240 it started to feel like it was at about the car's limit. Now this wasn't the V6 and the V6 has a bigger airfoil on the tail so it should be a bit more stable than the one I drove.
Fuel economy is pretty reasonable for a V6 sportscar. I drive a mix of highway and city and average 9.4 l/100km (about 25miles per US gal) but the car on a long highway trip is about 25% better than that.
The car is great in the snow. I have all-seasons on it and it handles deep snow much better than many other cars I see on the road. When I had summer tires on it, it stuck to the road like crap on a blanket.
Bad things? A lot of people think it's a "chick car" because it is so round and cute. I think Audi did an amazing job of styling the car - everything on the exterior flows and the interior compliments the exterior well.
The only complaint I have is the CD player doesn't read mp3 and the 6-disc changer doesn't read CD-RW.
There is a back seat that you can use, but only if you have headless and legless friends. It's handy for putting your briefcase or shopping bags. The back seats fold down and you'd be shocked at how much crap you can actually fit in the back!
Some of my passengers have remarked that the car seems very low and the roof is too low, but I think they are just not used to a sportscar (minivan losers). My brother-in-law is 6'2" and he has no problem with his TT.
Oh yeah. You asked about reliability.
So far my brother-in-law (2002 TT) has had no trouble and neither have I. So far so good.
Q: Audi TT problems?
I want an Audi TT 1.8 quattro and thankfully for my bank manager like the old shape rather than the new one. Do they have any particular faults or problems I should be looking for in an used one?
A: the things you need to look for is leaks in the transmission (not to bad to fix but a good way to get the price down on the car) make sure there is no sludge buildup in the engine and that the car had regular oil changes with SYNTHETIC oil. the majority of issues are annoying electrical glitches like lights that go out quicker than normal etc. They are not that bad reliability wise they are high maintenance though, the majority of ppl who complain about their reliability have neglected them if you keep up on the maintenance and replace things when they are recommended you rarely have an unexpected repair. But keep in mind keeping up on the maintenance is not cheep i would add an additional $50 a month to what ever your payment is so that you have money to do all the maintenance as it comes up. like $1000 for the timing belt at 70K miles (don't wait till 120K miles if it breaks you will need a new engine) the turbo should be good for about 70-120K miles you can wait till this goes bad before you replace it because it varies on how long it will last but expect the repair and have the money saved because it is also around 1200-1500 to have it done. oil changes are near $100 and you have to use premium fuel. Great car fun to drive looks good but its not cheap to own (because it was designed for those who wanted build quality and performance and were willing to pay for it)
Q: STP Gas treatment will it damage my car (audi TT)?
I have a 2002 Audi TT (standard) and I have always kept very good care of it. I was wondering if STP Gas Treatment was ok to put in it. I donnot want to damage the engine so I thought I would ask around first. Will it damage? is it a good thing to use??
A: STP gas treatment won't damage your car. If you're using it to clean injectors buy Techron. Techron is an injector cleaner that actually works. You might as well throw your money away on other treatments.
Most cars don't need cleaner added to the fuel system. Gas is cleaner and the filter system are improved. Your car should go over 100,000 miles without any injector problems. I have two cars with over 100,000 miles and started adding Techron at 70,000 miles and do so every 10,000 miles.
Don't believe the hype about pressurized injector cleaning. Jiffy Lube and others advertise this cleaning system and it is just a waste or money.
Q: I have a question, why are cars so cheap in US in comparison with EU ?
I mean I was checking Yahoo autos the other day, and there were like such good offers, for example one used audi tt convertible, 2001, for 8,500 dollars!! here in greece it would cost like 20,000 euros !!! :((
20,000 euros is like 25,000 dollars ! its a lot compared to 8,500 dollars !
A: taxes. it's all taxes.
you have a much higher sales tax than we do. you also have more (mostly) hidden taxes than we do.
Q: what makes the insurance company classify a car as a sports car.?
i will be new to driving and my parents will get me a 07 mustang a used audi tt. but they are worried that the insurance company will charge more because they are both nice cars. What makes the insurance company classify a car as a sports car
A: The fact that one would be. I have a stang, my driving record is good and my insurance is sky high. I have had 4 stangs in my life. The last one was to be my life long one but hurricane Katrina made it climb a tree. I have a nice 2006, looks like an original, square body. I really love it. Do you know that a 2 door Saturn is considered a sports car?, so is a Mazda 5.
Q: My Audi TT has sat for past 7 months, battery now dead. Tried using portable battery to restart, turned key...
once connected- alarm started which I switched off, dash lights came on, but no noise at all when I turned the key. Pressed throttle couple times, put lights on (advice from friend), then said FUSE on dash, tried starting again and heard a clicking noise from engine compartment. This wasn't the starter, it kept going once I had released the key. So turned off and pulled key out and clicking stopped. I daren't try and jump start it off another car in case it damages electrics off one or both (if it hasn't already!!). I'm at a loss, as I cannot afford Audi techs to come over, am not in AA or anything at the mo. Any advice that might help? Should I call mobile mechanic? Should I try and recharge battery or buy new? Should I try jump start off another car? Any sensible advice much appreciated!!
Eejit!!
A: Just jump start it. It sounds like your jump box is too weak. Put the pos. on first then the neg. If you don't hook the jumper cables up wrong no electronics damage will occur.
Q: 370z or g37 or audi TT, or eclipse or genesis or camaro or mustang?
list those from best to least, use things like price, gas, usefulness, and most important, looks!
All 2010.
A: Camaro for the quality, Mustang for its looks and power, genesis for the looks and engine, eclipse for just the looks and sound, audi TT for the quality and power, 370z for being the best low power coupe with the highest acceleration to 60mph, g37 ehhhhhh.
Q: Where can I find a performance chip for a 01 audi A4, 1.8 turbo, Quattro?
I heard they use the same engine in an Audi TT, but that has 225 bhp, they tune the A4 down to 163 bhp. Is there anything I can do to change that?
A: A company called Superchips are the well tuners .THe engine you have is different due to the turbo boost pressure. The engine needs to be on a rolling road to determine its health before modifications are started other wise the motor will blow .The e c u has to be reprogrammed as well to a safer parameter.Dont be tempted to do anything before hand it will cost you dearly.cheers
Q: is the engine in a golf r32 and audi TT (3.2 V6) an inline engine?
they say 10 degree bank angle. but it seems to use onlly 2 cams and the intake goes into only one side.
A: yes.
