Q: parts you can buy to improve performance on a audi a4 96model?
i was just wondering what parts i could buy that would improve the performance on my audi a4 96 model all my parts are stock cheers for the help

A: cold air intake, muffler, and speed tuning chip is a great start

Q: best performance part for audi a4 2.8l?
i am wondering what would be the best performance part (s) buy for my audi a4 2.8l. it already has a ram cold air intake, borla exhaust system, A arm, and headers. what would be the best next preformance part? looking to spend around $500

A: So far, the intake, headers, and exhaust, aren't giving you any performance, except for "performance sound" Actual horsepower, basically nothing. If you've put it on a dyno, you would have noticed that. It may feel faster, but real world performance....no change. You may even be slower, depending on how much torque you've lost. For 500....see if you can get the engine's head ported out. That'll increase airflow a lot, and help you out if you ever decide to put serious performance parts on the car.

Q: I'm adding parts to my engine for a 2000 Audi A4?
I have a 2000 Audi A4 Quattro turbo. What would I need to buy if I want to add Bigger turbo, Blow off valve, Cat back system. I’m not sure what to get or if I need it. I was told that I only need a BOV, but then someone else told that if I’m getting a BOV I need an Intercooler. And if I’m putting in a bigger turbo that I will need to upgrade my engine. Can anyone help with what I need for what I want to do? Or send me to links that might also help, also if you know a good mechanic in San Diego that would be able to do it for a good cost. Thank you yahoo answers community.

A: http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/neuspeed-standard-k04-turbocharger-kit-audi-tt-18t-0006-p-52082.html as you can see from that what you just need a few main items, however a BOV is not suggested for an Audi, a DV is better suited. an FMIC would be a plus as well. check out www.audizine.com there are a lot of B5's with turbo upgrades.

Q: I want to part exchange my M3 for an Audi A4 ?
I know the value of my car but can't find the value of the Audi. It is a 1996 2.6 V6 with 127 miles on the clock. Anybody have any ideas? Have tried Parker's and Glass's but they only go back to 1997

A: I have pasted the link below, but if your buying a car privately take the Reg and go to webuyyourcar.com and type the reg in and they will tell you how much they will pay, but you need to add about 25% to get the value for a private sale. www.webuyyourcar.com Hope this helps

Q: Which car is more reliable to maintain and own BMW 3-series or Audi A4?
I've heard some pros and cons of owning each and I was wondering if someone could give me some suggestions. Obviously I was told that the 2000 A4 was considered as a money pit and BMW parts on a 1998 3-series are hard to find. I hope to get some input before looking at finding which pre owned car would be worth owning.

A: Both cost about the same to maintain, get whichever you prefer. As to the person talking badly about the e36 3 series, complete bullsh*t. I had a 98 328is, and it was very reliable, and cheap to maintain. These cars are getting more and more easy to get parts for. because they are now two chassis models ahead of the e36, you can get parts, even whole part cars for very cheap compared to this time last year. I wish I had kept mine, it'd be much cheaper to maintain than the M5... As for Audi, it's a great car, not as sporty, but more luxurious. AWD is a plus too. My girlfriend loves her A6, but she's run into a few problems (you will with any car, regardless of sticker price) with the electrics. Bulbs not working even when they'ree brand new, cig lighter not working (for hooking up GPS), and dash lights flickering. But she still wouldn't trade it for the world, and I'm the same way about my BMW's. Sometimes you find loyalty with a certain car brand, but you can't let that cloud your judgment. Find which one you like more, and buy it. I am 20, and pay my way for everything, including car maintenance, insurance, and gas, yet I drive a European luxury car. if you're gonna pay for a car, get one you love driving everyday. Q: How do I get the bottom of the back seat of my 98 Audi A4 back in?
I took the bottom part of the back seat out and now I can't get it back in. I know there's two clips in the front of the seat that are supposed to snap in but I can't get the seat to slide in far enough to clip it. Is there some kind of trick to this?

A: Try pushing the seat bottom towards the seat back at a 45 degree angle, until it won't slide any further. When the seat bottom is all the way slid back (still at a 45 degree angle) then push the front down.

Q: Black 2000 audi a4 painting question?
I have a 2000 audi a4 which is black and it has all of the plastic parts in the engine covering it. Do you think I should take it all off or leave it there? If I am to leave it there I am going to paint it. What color should I paint the plastic inserts?

A: ive seen a couple 1.8ts that have pulled it off, but they color matched it to the panels. most people that just spray it make it look like crap. Its so so on the 2.8. and just removing it looks wrong.

Q: Where can I find a Valeo alternator voltage regulator for Audi A4?
I need real links to the product not answers like "search ebay" or "search some-autoparts-online.com" (already did those). Part number from the assembly body: 2542292. Part number from the regulator transistor: 2541940 Thanks!

A: hi, i had the same problem with my VW passat, it is the same engine and the same regulator 25442292c . I think this link will help you. Cheers! http://cgi.ebay.de/Lichtmaschinenregler-Regler-Kohlebuersten-Valeo-KFZ312_W0QQitemZ150064565407QQihZ005QQcategoryZ61520QQcmdZViewItem

Q: All there is to know about the Audi(A4)...as in if i get it preowned, will it break down?
and be ready for the junk yard immediately? Consumer Reports listed every year for the A4 among other Audis as the used cars to avoid. I'm in college and I'd really like to be sporting an audi so any advice would be greatly appreciated. My dad keeps trying to steer me away from it, telling me that after the purchase, purchase of new parts, and insurance hike, i will be broke.

A: If you know how to take care of a car you should be in pretty good shape. The few things that have gone bad on my 98' A4 have been pretty easy to fix. If your the kind of person that takes every small thing into the dealer i wouldnt recommend an Audi, but if you can do things short of electrical work, you should be fine. They are one of the safest cars on the road and very nice to drive, so i would go for it if i were you. good luck.

Q: The Audi A4 engine...
I'm looking to buy a 2004 or 2005 Audi A4. The most stressful part of this decision has been the engine, 1.8T, 2.0T or 3.0? I am looking at AWD drive manual transmission cars. I hear that the 2.0T is quicker than the 3.0, but in that case, is the 2.0T that much better than the 1.8T. I would love the input. Also, what is the deal with the S-line? Is it worth it?

A: Go with the 1.8T or the 2.0T. They have a turbo which is not only faster, but is MUCH better on gas as long as you dont use the turbo in normal acceleration. Some people have told me the S-Line for those years are packages are mostly just for looks (rims, badging etc) but the real performance package is in the RS-Line. I know for a fact that the RS4 is meant for true performance.

Q: Lost key to my Audi A4 1998 is dealer only option?
So after a long night out lost my car key from my car to my buddies apartment. My car is locked and my key is one of those quare ones with the button you push and the key flips up. Also has an alarm button on it. Dealership is closed on weekends of course, well the parts department. Any suggestions on where I can go to get a key maybe cheaper than the dealership? thanks for help guys

A: You can call a local REAL Locksmith. We do these all the time and come to you. We charge 185 for the key, service call and programming if a transponder unit. The keys themselves are cheap http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VW-Audi-keyless-remote-2-key-blades-UNCUT_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33723QQihZ010QQitemZ200199454014QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Likewise the remotes are also if you want to order them yourself http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUDI-A4-S4-TT-A6-A8-KEYLESS-REMOTE-ENTRY-FOB-KEY_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33723QQihZ015QQitemZ250216496308QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW But if you are in a hurry call a Locksmith.
